Alfred BERNING KG was founded in 1943 in Frankenberg as a subsidiary of Rafflenbeul (founded 1888) from Schwelm.
Until 1948 turned and milled parts were manufactured for the parent company in an
army indoor rifle range (45 employees).
At the same time the construction of new premises at 2 Jahnstrasse was started.
The move to Jahnstrasse was completed in 1950.
The machine manufacturing department was started. Then complete shoe machines were built in Frankenberg alongside the turned and milled parts.
Construction of an additional new hall. At the same time the product range was expanded. The adhesive tape systems and special machines sections were started.
A second factory was founded in Ohrdruf. Other turned and milled parts were
produced here for other businesses as commissioned orders. At the same time the company changed its name to BERNING-Maschinenfabrik GmbH
with the aim of developing and increasing the packaging machines and special machines division.
A restructuring was carried out in Frankenberg with the goal of aligning the company with machine manufacturing as its focal point.
Expansion of the sleeving machine product range.
Founding of the B-Pack Center division. Commissioned jobs in the sleeving sector were carried out here.
